FACULTY
Whether you’re a mid-level professional or a seasoned executive, you’ll find our courses fully engaging and rigorous. The Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA professors, drawn from each school’s eminent faculty, synthesize scholarship and industry know-how. They convey complex issues clearly and memorably—in class, on conference calls and over lunch.
Powering your Education
Your professors are authorities on the economic, social, political and technological forces shaping global markets today. Many of them incorporate experience as consultants and board members into their teaching, grounding key concepts in vivid examples. Leadership and Communication Professor Philip Tetlock made a worldwide splash with his award-winning book, Expert Political Judgment: How Good Is It? How Can We Know? His 20-year study found that the better known and more frequently quoted political experts were, the less reliable their predictions were likely to be. Both universities boast Nobel Prize winners on their faculties.
SUSTAINING THE VALUE
Terms 4 and 5 combine numerous electives and the International Seminar. In case after case, you’ll find that your professors add value and insight to your portfolio of knowledge
The takeaways start right away, Erik Holmlin, MBA ’06, says. “During my first semester,” he notes, “Professor Wilton taught a course on marketing strategy that included great concepts you could put to use immediately. It affected the way I think about strategy in general.”
